Jeffrey Jordan advocaat

BIOGRAPHY

Jeffrey Jordan was born and raised in The Hague’s Schilderswijk, a neighbourhood frequently portrayed negatively in the media but, for Jeffrey, above all, the foundation of his resilience, ambition, and social engagement. With a Dutch mother and an Afro-Surinamese father, he grew up in an environment rich in diversity—a place where cultures and life stories converge, but also where socio-economic challenges are tangible.

At a young age, Jordan encountered crime and the temptations of street life. He made mistakes, but ultimately made a conscious choice for a different path. This life experience enables him to relate deeply to young people growing up in similar circumstances. He believes they must learn to resist negative influences and that society has a duty to support them—without over-indulging.

After studying law, Jordan decided to focus on criminal law, where his natural sense of justice and streetwise character came together.

On growing up in a deprived neighbourhood, Jordan says:

“It’s not enjoyable, but you just have to work harder to get ahead.” – Jeffrey Jordan.

That mentality defines his career: where others see injustice or disadvantage, Jordan sees a challenge to overcome—not by complaining, but by taking action and persevering.

After his law studies, Jordan chose criminal practice and ultimately opened his own firm—not far from the Palace of Justice in The Hague. As a lawyer, he represents clients with determination, empathy, and clear language. He does not shy away from confrontation, especially with the young clients he serves. His approach is straightforward: earn respect by being honest and firm, because that is the language youth understand.

In addition, Jordan regularly speaks out on social issues such as unrest in the Schilderswijk. He stresses that riots and negativity only damage the image of the neighbourhood and do little for its youth. Instead, he encourages them to use their talents, prepare for the job market, and take responsibility for their future.

Jeffrey Jordan is more than a lawyer. He is an example of how background, diversity, and a difficult start can lead to societal success—provided you are willing to work harder and stand up for what is right.

Jordan is also active outside the courtroom. He routinely comments on social challenges, youth crime, and diversity. In media like AD and on his online platforms, he consistently stresses the importance of responsibility and a positive outlook, especially in areas like Schilderswijk. According to Jordan, young people need to be given and take opportunities: use talent, pursue education, and work towards a future beyond street culture.

His mission? To make justice accessible for all and to show young people that background or a difficult start does not have to be a barrier to social achievement.
