Hourly rate
The hourly rate charged by our lawyers depends on the complexity and importance of the case. In such cases, it is possible to make a fixed price agreement.
Hourly rates for lawyers:
Mr. J.S. Jordan 363 euros per hour including VAT.
Ms. N. Yildiz 242 euros per hour including VAT.
Ms. N. el Khattouti 242 euros including VAT.
Legal aid
In the Netherlands, we have a system of legal aid. This is implemented by the Legal Aid Board. If your income and assets are below certain limits, the Legal Aid Board will in many cases pay your legal costs. This applies not only to cases in which you have to conduct proceedings, but also when you need advice, or when the lawyer mediates for you in a conflict. You do have to pay a personal contribution. This personal contribution depends on your income, and not on the amount of time the lawyer has to spend on your case. You can look up the current income and asset standards at www.rechtsbijstand.nl.
Legal assistance insurance
The concept of legal assistance insurance uses a periodic premium. If you use legal assistance insurance, you are assured of legal assistance in times of conflict. Today, it is legally required that the legal assistance insurer offers you the freedom to choose your lawyer. In this case, you are therefore entitled to free legal assistance from a lawyer of your own choice. This concept does not only apply to legal proceedings. Also extrajudicial procedures such as advice or mediation by a lawyer. However, it depends on your policy conditions for which specific conflicts and up to which compensation you fall covered. You are therefore wise to read your policy conditions or contact your insurer.
Additional costs
In both paid and added cases, you will owe court fees in any proceedings, and you must bear the costs of requesting extracts or other documents. The costs incurred in your case, including travel and accommodation costs, will be charged to the client. The costs of any external advisors to be engaged in consultation with you, such as an accountant or a notary, will also be at your own expense.
